Data Export Best Practices

Before exporting your data, keep these tips in mind:

Verify data completeness — Ensure all records are synced and up-to-date before exporting

Test export first — Run a test export with a small subset of data to verify format compatibility

Save original files — Keep backups of your original export files

Document mapping — Note which fields from your old system map to Filevine fields

Check for duplicates — Review exported data for duplicate contacts or projects
