Manage projects in Filevine at scale with bulk creation and updates

The Projects Migrator is a powerful tool for managing projects in Filevine at scale. With this migrator, you can:

  • Create new projects in bulk
  • Update existing project information
  • Archive projects when they are no longer active

    Creating New Projects

    Quickly populate your Filevine environment using the Create Projects job.

    How to Create Projects

  • Select Create as your job type
  • Choose a client record assignment method
  • Download the CSV template

  • Upload the completed CSV
  • Review the job details and select Create Job

  • Project Name and Project Type ID are required for all projects
  • Use the Project Type and Phase IDs Map to identify correct IDs
  • If no Phase ID is supplied, the project will be created in the first phase of the selected project type

    Create a New Client Contact Record

    Creates a new client contact at the same time as the project. All Contact Migrator rules apply.

    Assign Client Contact Record by Filevine Contact ID

    Use for existing contacts in your Filevine org. Contact IDs (sometimes labeled as Person IDs) can be retrieved from Filevine reports.

    Assign Client Contact Record by Contact Migrator Job

    Ideal when a Contact Migrator job was run recently. The template automatically includes Contact IDs and full names from the prior job.

    Updating Existing Projects

    Keep your project data accurate using the Update Projects job.

  • Select Update as your job type
  • Download the CSV template
  • Enter the Project IDs and the fields you want to update
  • Upload the completed CSV
